Lemongrass which is also called as Cymbopogon citratus is a rustic and herbaceous plant. It is perennial in nature and is identified with its aroma which has a slight smell of lemon. The Stems grow to a height of about 60 cm and are long, rigid with a yellowish green color and are bulbous. They grow in the wild and mostly in tropical and subtropical countries. The base cream is tender (the useful part of the plant) and their leaves are a good mosquito repellent. They are cultivated since ancient times (in tropical Southeast Asia (India and Sri Lanka) and northern Africa (Libya and Egypt) for its oil which is used in perfumes, liquor and cosmetics.

Lemongrass oil can be diluted with water or it can be combined with other massage oils. A good session of massage with lemongrass oil will help you in solving digestive issues, curing infections, reduces nervousness and for curing ligament problems. Some people are found to be allergic to this oil, but if the combination is done with a low proportion of Lemongrass (3%) then there is absolutely no chance of any allergic reactions. Most commonly they are mixed with jasmine, cedar wood or lavender which are highly aromatic in nature.

How to use lemongrass massage oil

• Approximately 30ml massage oil is needed for a full massage.
• Providing a body scrub before, the results will be better. For all skin types.
• Put the oil out of reach of sunlight, at a temperature of between 20-25 degrees.
